On Friday, March 21, 2025 our team sat down with City of Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson and Chief of Faith Engagement Billy Evans and their team for a ‘Lakeside Chat’. The Mayor’s office hosts these conversations with local organizations in an effort to build connection and mutual learning from each other. Our team members shared about our vision for reducing gun violence and increasing thriving communities, our collective impact posture, and key successes from each of our five focus areas.
Pastor Billy Evans shared appreciation for our team members and past collaborations we have partnered on, such as our past Winter prayer events, and personal gratitude to members of our team. Mayor Johnson shared remarks on the work of his office, challenges our city faces, and desire for collaboration, followed by a time for questions from our team members with responses from the Mayor.
“It is always good to be in a room with others who clearly love and care for the people of our city.”, Mayor Johnson stated.
We concluded the meeting with praying for Mayor Johnson and our city. We are grateful for the opportunity for connection and conversation with city leadership as we continue to play our role in convening and mobilizing our partners for the good of the city of Chicago.
