Jake S. founder of Shield 616 in Colorado, is a retired Police Officer and SWAT Team member who felt God’s calling to provide better riffle rated protective gear for Police Officers around the country. His approach is to involve churches and other community based organization to be involved in funding and presenting this superior gear to members of the Police Department.
Jake and his team came to Chicago and was introduced to Together Chicago by our partner Christy Davis formerly with Biblica. After Jake shared his testimony about how and why God led him to start Shield 616, we knew we wanted to join the mission. These pictures were taken at the first presentation in Chicago at The Chicago Police Training Academy on Friday July 7th where 20 vests and Bibles were presented to some of Chicago’s finest.
