On Tuesday, July 1st, more than 160 students and Chicago Police officers came together at the CPD headquarters to participate in a JustBRUNCH Conversations event. Organized by Rev. Alvin C. Bibbs Sr., Together Chicago’s Community & Faith Engagement Officer, the event created space for open dialogue, mutual listening, and real relationship-building.
“Our mission is clear,” Rev. Bibbs said. “It is to revitalize relationships between police and community members by centering transparency, accountability, and empathy.”
Participants shared personal stories, challenged harmful stereotypes, and took meaningful steps toward healing the divide between community residents and law enforcement. JustBRUNCH Conversations continues to be a powerful tool for changing narratives, breaking cycles of violence, and fostering a more united Chicago. Join the next JustBRUNCH Conversations event at 11am on Tuesday, July 22nd at the ARK Entrepreneurial Center located at 2458 S. Millard Ave.
