Members of our Violence Reduction Team received honors from Mayor Lori Lightfoot and Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown for their work in the custom notifications program. The Custom Notifications Program pairs local community leaders with CPD in a targeted outreach to individuals who are known victims or perpetrators of violence, and offers a message of both warning and hope. Our team members Michael Allen and Edward Peecher are among those who coordinate these efforts, and who work to provide resources and alternative options to young people in an effort to guide them away from actions of violence or retribution. Local leaders Joe Cali and Pastor Olumide Ajiginni were also honored for their work in helping to deliver custom notifications and follow up with individuals.

Congrats to all who were honored, and thank you for your important work.
